The professional football career of former Alabama RB Trent Richardson has hit another bump in the road.

CFL team camps opened this weekend – hence, the Johnny Manziel announcement – and that meant teams were announcing roster moves. The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced this weekend that Richardson had been placed on the team’s “suspended list,” but no further details have been reported. Richardson, 27, played in four games with Saskatchewan last season, logging 259 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 48 carries. A former No. 3 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns, Richardson previously played three seasons in the NFL.

Earlier this month, Richardson’s coach Chris Jones told TSN he didn’t expect to see the former Heisman finalist attend the start of camp, citing issues at home.

“I don’t think so, no. Right now Trent’s got some situations going on at home so we’ll just have to see where that goes,” Jones said on May 10.
