This spring and summer, Alabama sophomore Trevon Diggs has been making the switch from wide receiver to defensive back in order to best help the Crimson Tide during the 2017 season.
Now that he’s seemingly entrenched on defense, something had to be done with the Alabama jersey numbers, as 5-star 2017 LB Dylan Moses and Diggs both wear No. 7 jerseys.
So, to accommodate the sophomore’s switch, Moses has bumped his number up by one and will now wear the No. 8 jersey:
Freshman LB Dylan Moses switched from No. 7 to 8. That allows him and Trevon Diggs to play on defense and special teams together.

Now, Moses and Diggs can both be on the field for special teams and defense, should such situations arise this fall.
Moses now shares a number with RB Joshua Jacobs, who also sports the No. 8 jersey.
