Landing former Bowling Green WR Gehrig Dieter as a graduate transfer was big news for the defending national champions last weekend.

And now, the newest member of the Crimson Tide receiving corp has shown just how confident he is in his abilities with his apparent uniform selection.

Dieter posted this message to his Instagram account on Thursday evening:

can’t wait to put this jersey on next year. 🐥2️⃣🐘#rolltide

If that jersey looks familiar, it’s because that’s the same No. 2 that Derrick Henry wore during his Heisman Trophy campaign in the 2015 season.

Rather than give it a year off to breathe, the 6-3 receiver has apparently jumped in and claimed the prized number as his own for the 2016 season.

Dieter caught 94 passes for 1,033 yards and 10 touchdowns in Dino Babers’ high-powered passing attack last season.

It will be interesting to see what type of role Dieter plays for the Crimson Tide in his final year of eligibility.
