Jermaine Burton, Alabama WR, decides on 2024 season
Jermaine Burton is going pro after four seasons of college football.
Burton took to social media on Saturday to announce that he is declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. Though he has played in 47 games without redshirting from 2020-23 at Georgia and Alabama, he had the option of returning for 2024 with the NCAA’s pandemic waiver.
“First, I want to thank God for allowing me the opportunities that I have received and will receive in my life,” Burton wrote in a posted statement. “To the University of Alabama, this has been an unforgettable experience and I appreciate how memorable you’ve all made this for me. To my coaches, thank you for putting your trust in me.
“A special thank you to Coach Wiggins, you’ve helped me grow so much as both a player and a person and I’ll forever be grateful for that. To my teammates, this brotherhood is one that will carry with all of us throughout our lives and I know so many of you are destined for great things.
“Lastly, to my family, thank you for riding with me on this journey over the years and for supporting me through every decision I’ve made. With that said, I’m excited to announce that I will be entering the 2024 NFL Draft.”
Burton entered the Rose Bowl averaging 22 yards per catch, which led all SEC wideouts and ranked No. 4 nationally. He finished his senior season with 39 catches for 798 yards and 8 touchdowns.
