Kool-Aid McKinstry believed in what Nick Saban said about the 2023 season at Tuesday’s presser. Saban said that the future is now in a recent interview.

McKinstry stated that no one’s ever won or lost a national championship in Week 2. The Alabama defensive back is still confident in his team’s ability to reach the big game and win it.

“The future is now. No one’s ever won a national championship in Week 2, or lost it. We have to come together and make sure that we have everything together. The season’s still ahead of us. SEC play is still ahead of us. We have opportunities to do exactly what we want to still do as a team.”

McKinstry appeared in 13 games for the Crimson Tide last year. He had 35 total tackles, 1 interception, and 2 tackles for loss.

While Alabama now has one loss on the year, it’s still very early. The Crimson Tide could still potentially reach the College Football Playoff if they take care of business.

McKinstry and his teammates have a chance to reset against USF in Tuscaloosa in Week 3 before SEC play opens. The first SEC game on the schedule is Ole Miss on Sept. 23.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
