Kool-Aid McKinstry reacts to being benched as Alabama’s punt returner

Kool-Aid McKinstry has handled punt returning duties for most of the season, but on Saturday against Chattanooga, Nick Saban went in a different direction.
After McKinstry fumbled after a long return, Saban decided to go with Caleb Downs in the punt returner spot as McKinstry’s mistakes piled on. For McKinstry, he is willing to make whatever move the team needs him to.
“I’m just here for the team,” McKinstry said. “Whenever my number’s called that’s when I’ll step up. Caleb did a good job this weekend, I feel like he stepped up and into the role did a great job with scoring a touchdown and just going out there and making sure he does well for the team. When my number’s called, I’ll be ready.”
Downs had a productive day in his first game as punt returner, taking one to the house for a touchdown.
Alabama is looking for another productive day from Downs this weekend as the Tide close out their season against Auburn.
