LaBryan Ray was not fortunate enough to land with a team during the 2022 NFL Draft. However, the former Alabama defender is getting a shot as an undrafted free agent.

On Monday, the New England Patriots announced the signing of Ray in a group of 8 undrafted free agent signings. After battling injuries during his time with the Crimson Tide, Ray will look to land a roster spot with the Patriots.

Ray’s best season at Alabama came in 2018 when he posted 39 total tackles with 6 TFL and 2.5 sacks. Unfortunately, he battled injuries throughout his career after landing a starting spot in 2019. Ray finished his Alabama career with 76 total tackles, 14 TFL and 6.5 sacks.

The 2022 draft was the first time since 2018 that the Patriots did not select at least one Alabama player. From 2019-21, New England selected Damien Harris, Anfernee Jennings, Mac Jones and Christian Barmore in the draft.
