A former Alabama commitment is reportedly looking to be recruited again. Multiple outlets are reporting that Miami cornerback Christian Williams has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Williams was committed to Alabama from April 16, 2018 until Feb. 6, 2019.

As a freshman, Williams appeared in all 13 UM games, recording 5 total tackles, including 3 solo tackles, and one pass breakup. Miami was the first Power 5 team in action for the 2020 season, defeating UAB 31-14 on Sept. 10. In the UAB game, Williams played just eight snaps, recording a tackle and allowing a 14-yard reception on his only targeted pass.

An all-state selection out of Daphne, Alabama, Williams was rated 4-stars, the No. 7 recruit in the state, No. 20 cornerback and No. 160 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2019 on the 247Sports Composite. Williams also had offers from Auburn, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Entering the NCAA transfer portal does not bound Williams to leave Manny Diaz’s Hurricanes program. In the portal, Williams can be recruited by other programs but also withdraw and return to UM.
