Nick Saban has to be getting tired of Lane Kiffin questions, right?

You can bet he won’t miss those questions after the College Football Playoff is over.

During Thursday’s Peach Bowl media day, Lane Kiffin was asked if he has had fun at Alabama under Nick Saban.

“Fun?” Kiffin said. “Yeah. We don’t use that word a lot.”

Kiffin went on to say that winning is fun, and he’s been a part of a lot of wins at Alabama during his tenure as offensive coordinator.

Here’s the full answer to the question.

Friday, Nick Saban and Chris Petersen held a joint press conference at the Georgia Dome, and Saban was once again asked about Kiffin, this time his “fun” comments from Thursday. Naturally, Saban took the high road and only praised Kiffin. He wasn’t going to make Kiffin any more of a distraction that he already is — mostly created by the media.

Of course Saban appreciates it. Kiffin has helped take Alabama’s offense to another level.

But let’s be clear here: coaches don’t coach under Nick Saban to have “fun.” They coach under Saban for a massive resume boost, the incredible experience and the opportunity to learn what makes arguably the best coach in the history of college football tick.

Both Saban and Kiffin will be taking something from each other after this season. Alabama will keep the spread offense under new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian, and Kiffin will take with him the plethora of information he’s gathered from Saban, dubbed “the process.”

I have no problem with Kiffin’s comments, and they were mostly overblown anyway. Winning is fun, but working under Saban may not be so fun. And that’s okay.

Jason Whitlock recently took it to another level with Kiffin’s “fun” comments, saying Kiffin is mad at Saban for not being able to help him get another job other than FAU. Here’s the video.
