Nick Saban nearing retirement or major staff changes? Rough 1st half draws heavy backlash
Nick Saban and Alabama appear to be at a crossroads, according to fans and media who watched the Crimson Tide struggle mightily in the first half against Tennessee.
The Tide fell behind 13-0 early against Tennessee, and briefly recovered only to trail 20-7 at halftime.
A week after he had just 100 yards passing in a win over Texas A&M, Vols QB Joe Milton surpassed that total in the first quarter alone as the visitors quieted the Alabama faithful in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Alabama had just 16 rushing yards in the first half.
After the 1st half, fans and media discussed major changes for Alabama, and Saban’s future.
Here’s a sample of the reaction:
Milroe gotta stop holding the ball so long and use his damn feet, I’ve seen two 3rd and medium he could’ve got with his feet, he gotta help his offensive lineman some too

Nick Saban has praised this team’s resiliency all season. We’re about to find out a lot about how resilient Alabama truly is down 20-7 at the half and its offense looking like a mess.

The Alabama fanbase will now start to unload on their players. Saban will not be spared.

I am still proud of this Alabama team win or lose if Nick Saban decides he wants to coach Alabama for another 5 years or more I hope he decides to go out an hire some elite coaches mainly an Offensive Coordinator , Offensive Line , Defensive Line an Strength an Conditioning Coach

Tennessee putting the screws to Nick Saban and Alabama. They lead 20-7 at halftime. #TENNvsBAMA pic.twitter.com/kd0Gtujz5f

I want Alabama to lose because I like to hear Nick Saban try to make a case for a playoff spot for a multi-loss team at the end of the season.

You shouldn’t be allowed to be an offensive coordinator at Alabama who sits up in the booth. If Saban can’t humiliate you on the sidelines in front of the whole congregation, you don’t have what it takes to be a coach at Alabama.

Saban’s day is coming to an end. The UT coach is ten times the game coach Saban is. Alabama’s coordinators are also subpar.

As head coach of Alabama, Nick Saban has never lost at home by 10 or points. At halftime, the Tide trail by more than 10 points. Let’s see if they keep the streak going or suffer the first double digit loss at home since Mike Shula.

How bad are the other QBs if Saban still think Milroe is the guy #alabama

Nick Saban was the best when Alabama was the only team paying crazy money. Just remember, when he cries about things, it’s because he can’t adapt.

Week 2 “Alabama looks cooked” takes were fundamentally right. they’ve been eking out wins for a month but change the colors and there’s no way anyone is mistaking this bunch for a potential playoff team.
