Nick Saban ended his Wednesday post-practice press conference by remembering Luke Ratliff.
“Luke Ratliff was a great fan here. He loved the University of Alabama,” Saban told reporters, via Zoom. “I just want his family to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Certainly a difficult circumstance for all of us, and he’s certainly going to be missed. God bless you all.”
Ratliff passed late Friday. A senior at UA, he was a widely recognized “superfan” of the Alabama basketball program as the leader of the home student section while also attending nearly every away/neutral-site game.
Alabama assistant coach Bryan Hodgson launched a GoFundMe page that has raised over $56,000 for Ratliff’s family.
