Quinnen Williams hilariously admits he has been star-struck meeting some of his New York Jets teammates
Quinnen Williams has come a long way in a year’s time.
It wasn’t that long ago that football fans outside the state of Alabama probably never even heard his name and now he’s one of the youngest players in the NFL after being selected No. 3 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. That lofty selection may have seemed like a stretch this time a year ago but Williams deserved it after his breakout season for the Crimson Tide last fall.
Arguably the best defender in college football last season, Williams won the Outland Trophy and was named a unanimous All-American following his redshirt sophomore season anchoring Alabama’s defensive line. Now that he’s moved on to the professional ranks, Williams apparently still hasn’t gotten accustomed to life in the NFL just yet.
In the clip below, Williams is open regarding how star-struck he was to meet teammates Leonard Williams, Le’Veon Bell, Sam Darnold and Jamal Adams.

In addition to his excitement to meet his new teammates, Williams overall enthusiasm for being a Jet extends to his contribution to the team moving forward. Instead of coming in with a sense of entitlement, Williams is open to any and every role the team wants to give him next season.

Based on these interactions, it won’t take Williams long to become a fan favorite in New York.
