This offseason, we’ve seen Texas hire quite a few Alabama staffers. One veteran assistant, however, is reportedly making the move from Austin to Tuscaloosa.

According to AL.com’s Matt Zenitz, Dave Huxtable will join Nick Saban’s staff. An analyst last season at Texas, Huxtable was a long-time defensive coordinator. The 64-year-old’s resume includes defensive coordinator stops at Georgia Tech (1996-97), North Carolina (2002-03), UCF (2008-10), Pittsburgh (2012) and NC State (2013-19).

Huxtable has been in coaching since 1982, getting his start as an Iowa State grad assistant. In his multi-decade career, Huxtable has also coached linebackers, defensive linemen and special teams.

Saban recently added experienced defensive coach Mark Orphey as a senior analyst to the Crimson Tide staff.
