The Alabama Crimson Tide face the unenviable task of having to replace star WR Calvin Ridley this season, and now that task just got harder.

According to a report from AL.com on Monday night, rising sophomore WR Jerry Jeudy has injured his knee and has undergone surgery.

The report states that Jeudy could still return before the end of the spring practice session, but that is not for certain yet:

Sophomore Jerry Jeudy recently suffered a meniscus injury and underwent surgery to repair the injury, sources told AL.com. It’s possible he could return before the end of spring practice, though, per sources.

Jeudy made 14 catches for 264 yards and two touchdowns last season, but was in line for a bigger role this fall.

He’ll likely be ready to go for summer camp, but his absence will be felt this spring.

UPDATE: Jeudy has since confirmed the news.
