Sam Shade, former star player at Alabama, reportedly drawing interest for college head coaching job

Sam Shade is a popular former Alabama football star, a safety who was drafted in Round 4 of the 1995 NFL Draft.

After spending 7 seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins, Shade has been in the coaching ranks. He spent time at Samford, Georgia State and in the NFL with the Bengals.

Now, he’s the head coach at Pinson Valley High School in Alabama, but he’s drawing interest from a college for its head coaching gig, per FootballScoop.com:

Sam Shade, a former University of Alabama star who logged seven years in the NFL, has emerged as a top candidate for the Miles College head coaching position, sources told FootballScoop.

Miles College is located in Fairfield, Alabama, and competes in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
