The Alabama Crimson Tide are riding high heading into the College Football Playoff national championship game against Ohio State on Jan. 11. The Tide just took down Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl to advance to the title game.
OC Steve Sarkisian has been a big part of Alabama’s success. He has 3 players who finished in the top 5 of Heisman Trophy voting this year — QB Mac Jones, WR DeVonta Smith and RB Najee Harris.
But, it appears his time in Tuscaloosa is coming to an end. Per Chip Brown of 247Sports, Sarkisian is expected to take over the Texas job after the Longhorns fired Tom Herman on Saturday morning:

That’s a shocking report, particularly given the timing of things. Nothing is official yet, but this would be a huge loss for Alabama’s coaching staff under Nick Saban.
We’ll see what happens with Sark as this situation progresses. It seems likely he’d stay on as Alabama’s offensive coordinator through the CFP title game.
