It looks like Bill Belichick knew what he was doing when he decided to finally use a first-round pick on a quarterback, taking Mac Jones. The former Alabama standout quarterback drew rave reviews in his NFL preseason debut.

The former Alabama standout received most of the playing time in Thursday night’s game against the Washington Football Team before Brian Hoyer eventually took over.

Jones finished with a line of 13-of-19 passing for 87 yards. He didn’t get his first NFL touchdown on Thursday night, but it wasn’t his fault as one perfectly placed pass resulted in an incompletion instead of a TD.
