WATCH: The touching moment when Tua Tagovailoa’s parents found out their son was starting for Alabama

Many people assumed Tua Tagovailoa would be the starter for the Alabama Crimson Tide against Louisville on Saturday night, but coach Nick Saban didn’t tip his hand.
So, when Tagovailoa did trot out with the first team instead of Jalen Hurts, it was a moment of surprise for everyone involved.
As you can see in the video below, it doesn’t appear that Tagovailoa’s parents — Diane and Galu — knew that he was starting until the last moment, either:

Tagovailoa ended up throwing for 227 yards and two touchdowns, adding another score with his legs, in the Tide’s big 51-14 victory.
Hurts also played, but didn’t score any touchdowns during his somewhat limited game action. Alabama plays a lesser foe in Arkansas State next week, so it’ll be interesting to see how playing time is divided in that matchup.
