Like many other analysts and rankings, FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt put Alabama at No. 1 entering the 2018 season.

“Alabama is right now the preeminent program in all of college football,” Klatt said in a segment for FOX Sports. “Coming off of a national championship with that roster, I know that there are some holes, but look, they’re going to be able to fix them. Nick Saban is the best coach in college football right now.”

However, there’s one thing that Klatt is not impressed with when it comes to the Crimson Tide — their schedule this season.

As Klatt points out, Alabama may not play a team ranked in the top 15 prior to its matchup against Auburn on Nov. 24. Auburn, LSU and Mississippi State are the only ranked opponents on the Tide’s schedule to open the season.

“This is by far the easiest schedule of any of the top teams in the country,” Klatt said. “If Alabama is not the SEC champion and not in the Playoff, I’m going to be shocked. …

“It’s one of the worst [schedules] in the country, and they should steamroll it.”

Alabama opens the season against Louisville at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
