The Alabama Crimson Tide scored early and often in a 56-14 rout of Louisiana on Saturday, leading 49-0 at halftime.

The Tide were expected to win, and win big, but the Ragin’ Cajuns still showed some heart and fight in the second half.

After the game, Louisiana coach Billy Napier, a former Alabama assistant, had some high praise for his old program, saying the preparation that goes into every Alabama game is what makes the Tide great (via AL.com):

“It’s a product of lots of hard work is what it is,” he said. “I’m not just talking about how they practice, how they train and how they prepare, but it’s a product of recruiting at a really high level. It’s a product of precision in how you evaluate players, not only the physical dimensions — the speed, the measurables, but also the intangibles. It’s a product of consistency and routine. It’s a product of years and years of improving routine from player development. The precision that they play with is pretty special.

“The margin of error they play with out there is small, so that wasn’t built in a week or a month or a couple of months or even a year. That was built in several years. There are a lot of talented players over there — not just the players but the coaches. There’s great leadership at the top, and there’s tremendous leadership at the university, so what you see out there is a product of a lot of people’s hard work. There’s a lot of people who you don’t even know their name, but they work every day in that building. They make a difference in that team and that program.”

Napier is trying to install some of those same principles at Louisiana, but as he said, these things take time.

For now, Alabama continues to reign supreme in the college football world.
