Will Anderson Jr. has been giving opposing quarterbacks nightmares for 2 years in a row now. In 2021, he recorded 101 tackles (31 for a loss) and 17.5 sacks.

In 2022, he finished the year with 51 tackles (17 for a loss) and 10 sacks. That was enough to earn him AFCA first-team All-America honors.

That completed Anderson’s second-straight unanimous All-American season, something no other Alabama player has ever done (via AL.com):

Anderson became the Tide’s first player ever to earn unanimous All-American status in multiple seasons when he was selected Wednesday to the AFCA’s first team All-America.

The honor meant Anderson was a first-team pick on each of the NCAA’s five officially recognized All-America lists — the FWAA, Walter Camp, Associated Press, Sporting News and AFCA — for a second season in a row.

Anderson is expected to be a first-round pick, perhaps even a top-3 pick, in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.

We’ll see if he can continue his menacing ways in the pro ranks, but he’ll leave Tuscaloosa having accomplished something no other Crimson Tide player has ever accomplished. That’s pretty special.
