Arkansas has added some experience and production to its 2024 wide receiver room. Khafre Brown has decided to use his extra “COVID year” of extra eligibility at Arkansas.

Brown began his career at North Carolina, playing for the Tar Heels in 2021 and ’22. The past two seasons, he played for South Florida.

Brown heads to Fayetteville coming off his most productive season. Last year, he played in 12 games, recording 27 receptions, 435 yards and 5 touchdowns.

What can Brown do for UA?

The wide receiver room should be a strength for Arkansas in 2024. The Razorbacks return leading wideout Andrew Armstrong (56 catches, 764 yards, 5 TD) along with veterans like Tyrone Broden, Isaiah Sategna and Jaedon Wilson.

The key to the passing game may be outside the wide receiving room. SDS’ own Connor O’Gara expects big things from tight end Luke Hasz, who posted 16 catches for 253 yards and 3 scores in 5 games last season.

With so many returning receivers with game experience, some might be surprised that the Hogs decided to use a roster spot on a portal wide receiver. The coaches, though, just finished watching the wide receivers for 15 practices, and obviously felt the room could use another contributor with experience.

Brown should fit in as a solid depth piece for the Razorbacks. Armstrong looks to be WR1, coming off a strong spring in Fayetteville looking to build on his 2023 numbers as the Hogs transition into the Bobby Petrino offense. Brown’s production in the AAC at USF should translate to being an SEC WR2/WR3 type.

Brown has established that he can make highlight catches as a vertical threat. The Hogs hope to see more of that this fall.
