Arkansas QB Brandon Allen selected as Manning Award Quarterback of the Week

It has been a huge week for Arkansas senior quarterback Brandon Allen, and it got even better Friday.

Allen was selected as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week after torching UTEP last Saturday, throwing for 304 yards and four touchdowns through the air, and it was a statement performance. His head coach, Bret Bielema, also said he wanted a recount of the SEC Offensive Player of the Week votes, too, because he thought his signal caller should have won. Alabama running back Derrick Henry won that award for Week 1.

Allen won the Manning Quarterback Award over seven other Manning Award Stars of the Week in a Facebook fan vote.

Coming off of the game of his career and not being selected as the SEC’s Offensive Player of the Week, do you think offensive coordinator Dan Enos and Bret Bielema will let Allen air it out again to make another statement?

The Razorbacks return to the gridiron Saturday against Toledo.
