Hunter Henry‘s time with the Chargers appears to be coming to an end.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Chargers plan on letting Henry hit free agency after placing the franchise tag on the tight end during the previous offseason.
“Chargers informed TE Hunter Henry that he will not be tagged, per source. Henry is headed to free agency,” Schefter reported.
The Arkansas native is coming off arguably his best two seasons in the NFL as he registered 60 catches for 613 yards and four touchdowns in 2020 and 55 catches for 652 yards and five touchdowns in 2019.
A consensus All-American during the 2015 season, the former Razorback standout was selected by the Chargers in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
