Auburn expected to add former Liberty coach for off-the-field role
Auburn and head coach Hugh Freeze seem to be sticking with familiarity and are expected to add former liberty special teams coordinator and OLB coach Tanner Burns to their growing staff. Burns is expected to fulfill an off-the-field role, mostly working special teams for the Tigers.
Burns was a quality control assistant for Arkansas from 2014-2018 and has been at Liberty with Freeze since. Obviously, Freeze took the vacant Auburn job in late November, leaving Liberty after 4 seasons at the helm of the program.

Things are looking up for Auburn. The Tigers have made some big splashes in recruiting lately, flipping Sylvester Smith from Tennessee and Kayin Lee from Ohio State among other flips, moving the Tigers’ recruiting class within the top 20 nationally.
