The early signing period starts on Wednesday for committed 2019 prospects, with many expected to sign during the next three days.

On the eve of the early signing period, though, the Auburn Tigers got some bad news, as a 3-star defensive lineman out of Mississippi announced he was decommitting from the program.

As you can see in the tweet below, DE Jamond Gordon announced that he was reopening his recruitment:

Per the 247Sports composite, Gordon is the No. 35 strong-side defensive end in the class of 2019 and the No. 19 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.

Auburn now only has 15 players committed as part of its 2019 class. Prior to Gordon’s decommitment, the class ranked No. 14 in the nation and No. 5 in the SEC, per 247Sports.

Ole Miss is expected to be a player for Gordon, and Mississippi State has also extended an offer to the Mississippi native.
