Auburn may be without its top pass-rusher in the Music City Bowl.
Meeting with the media Thursday, Tigers coach Gus Malzahn revealed that Nick Coe recently underwent surgery and is “doubtful.” Coe had been dealing with a right hand/wrist injury late in the season.
The redshirt sophomore is first on the team in sacks (7) and second in tackles for loss (13.5). He has 27 total tackles, three quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles in the 2018 campaign.
Auburn is set to face Purdue in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 28. Malzahn told reporters he expects all other players to be ready to go and does not anticipate any NFL-bound players sitting out the bowl game.
