Hugh Freeze praises LB Jalen McLeod: 'You're just now seeing what Jalen can be'
Hugh Freeze held some high praise for junior linebacker Jalen McLeod Wednesday at the SEC’s final teleconference of the season.
McLeod has been playing with his hair on fire for the past few weeks especially. He’s up to 37 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble this year. Incredibly, he had 3 sacks against Arkansas alone.
Here’s what Freeze had to say about McLeod’s performance. Essentially, the best is still et to come for the standout LB:
“I think you’re just now seeing what Jalen can be. That high-ankle sprain really hampered him all season until probably the last week and a half to 2 weeks. And he’s definitely close to full speed now and I think you see that in his play and it definitely elevates our defense even more.”
Auburn is sitting at 6-4 on the year looking to add to their win total against New Mexico State this Saturday. The game is set to kick off at 4 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
