Auburn’s loaded receiver room just added another potential star to the group.

Not long after Malcolm Johnson Jr. announced his commitment to Auburn’s 2021 recruiting class — he picked the Tigers over his other finalists Alabama, Florida, Georgia and LSU — the four-star Virginia native has revealed he plans to reclassify to the 2020 class and will arrive on The Plains in time for the team’s upcoming training camp.

Johnson looks to be the latest in a long line of out of state speed receivers to play for Malzahn at Auburn, as he is also a track and field All-American for St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes High School.

Keep in mind, Gus Malzahn’s program signed four-star receivers Kobe Hudson, Ze’Vian Capers and J.J. Evans along with three-star prospect Elijah Canion in the 2020 recruiting cycle.

Auburn already had a case for signing the best group of receivers in the nation in the 2020 recruiting cycle — and that was before Johnson was added to the list.

Adding Johnson to that mix with returning veterans Seth Williams, Anthony Schwartz, Eli Stove and Shedrick Jackson and Bo Nix will have no shortage of targets to throw to this fall.

Any way to look at it, this has been a great week for the Tigers on the recruiting trail.
