Heading into the 2018 NFL Draft, it seems as if every team is sleeping on the draft-eligible Auburn Tigers.

DB Carlton Davis is the only one with a chance to go in the first round, it seems, but players like RBs Kerryon Johnson and Kamryn Pettway, OL Braden Smith and OLB Jeff Holland all could be great value picks, too.

During a conference call on Wednesday, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. said he thinks, of all the Tigers, Smith is the most underrated entering next week’s event (via AuburnTigers.com):

“I think Braden Smith is the most underrated of this (Auburn) group,” Kiper said. “I liked the way he tested, the way he played. I think you get into the third round for Braden Smith, and you get a plug-and-play starter as a rookie.”

Smith could go in the third round of the draft, but whatever team gets him is getting a lineman who had great success at Auburn.

Smith tested well at the NFL Combine, so it’s strange that he’s not a higher-rated prospect, but it’s still possible that he will find his way into the second round before all is said and done.
