Former Auburn defensive back Javaris Davis is now looking for a new NFL home.

The Miami Dolphins announced Thursday that they waived Davis with a non-football injury designation. If he clears waivers, Davis will revert to Miami’s injured reserve, and he would remain there for 2020 barring an injury settlement.

This marks the second time that Davis has been waived since players began reporting to NFL training camps.

Davis went undrafted in 2020. He originally signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, but he was waived on July 26. He was claimed by the Dolphins and waived Thursday.

During his 4-year college career, Davis recorded 150 total tackles, 8 INTs and 35 passes defended. Davis signed with Auburn as a 4-star prospect out of Jacksonville, Florida in the class of 2015.
