An Auburn staffer is reportedly leaving for an SEC West rival. Jason Caldwell of Inside the Auburn Tigers is reporting that Doug Goodwin is leaving Auburn to join Lane Kiffin’s staff at Ole Miss.

Goodwin had been on Gus Malzahn’s staff since 2014 and o served as Auburn’s director of high school relations and NFL liaison and also oversaw the Tigers’ walk-on program. All three titles are still listed on Goodwin’s Twitter account at time of publishing.

Tom Green of AL.com reports that Goodwin is expected to be an analyst as part of the Rebels’ off-field staff.

Prior to Auburn, Goodwin had a decorated 29-year career as a high school football coach in the state of Alabama which led to being inducted in the AHSAA Hall of Fame in 2015.

The move to Ole Miss reunites Goodwin with Rebels special teams coordinator Blake Gideon. The two previously worked together at AU when Gideon was a graduate assistant under Will Muschamp.
