Report: Details of Cadillac Williams’ contract with Auburn released
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Recently, the Auburn Tigers made the very popular decision to bring star RB Carnell “Cadillac” Williams back to The Plains as the team’s RB coach.
Williams was a first-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, going No. 5 overall in 2005. Now, he’s back where his college career started.
Per 247Sports, Williams’ contract is for two years and will be worth $325,000 a year:
Williams agreed Jan. 23 to an annual salary of $325,000 in a memorandum of understanding he signed upon his hiring, according to documents provided Tuesday to Auburn Undercover via an open records request. Williams’ full contract, when executed, runs through Jan. 31, 2021.
Williams had been on the Birmingham Iron coaching staff in the new Alliance of American Football, but now he’s back at Auburn.
He’s making less than former RB coach Tim Horton was, but if he gets the Tiger running game going again this fall, that could change.
