The 2022 MLB Draft will take place from Sunday, July 17, to Tuesday, July 19, in Los Angeles, and the SEC will have several players selected throughout the first round.

In MLB.com’s latest mock draft, the list featured seven SEC players being taken in the first 40 picks. MLB.com draft analyst Jonathan Mayo released his latest list, which saw the first SEC player taken inside the top 10. Here are the SEC players on Mayo’s mock draft:

  • No. 10 – Jacob Berry, 3B/OF, LSU – Colorado Rockies
  • No. 24 – Jordan Beck, OF, Tennessee – Boston Red Sox
  • No. 25 – Blade Tidwell, RHP, Tennessee – New York Yankees
  • No. 27 – Drew Gilbert, OF, Tennessee – Milwaukee Brewers
  • No. 30 – Connor Prielipp, LHP, Alabama – San Francisco Giants
  • No. 34 – Sterlin Thompson, OF, Florida – Arizona Diamondbacks
  • No. 37 – Cayden Wallace, 3B, Arkansas – Cleveland Guardians
  • No. 39 – Kumar Rocker, RHP, formerly Vanderbilt – San Diego Padres
