“Blue Mountain State” is making a comeback, news that will be welcomed with a “hell yeah” by many of the show’s fans.

Deadline Hollywood reports that a “Blue Mountain State” sequel series is currently being shopped by producer Lionsgate TV. Alan Ritchson, who played Thad Castle in the original series, is on board.

The show was about a fictional university, Blue Mountain State, and its varsity football team, the Mountain Goats. The original three-season run of 39 episodes aired on Spike, which has since become Paramount Network, from Jan. 11, 2010 to Nov. 30, 2011.

Amazon, the home of “Reacher,” which stars Ritchson, and Netflix, which substantially grew Blue Mountain State’s audience via streaming, are considered potential landing spots for the sequel series, per Deadline. Negotiations are reported to be ongoing.

While Ritchson is the headlining name for his status as Thad Castle on the show and Jack Reacher to a wider audience, Deadline adds that Darin Brooks and Chris Romano are also expected to be back for the follow-up. Brooks played quarterback Alex Moran and Romano, a series co-creator, played Sammy Cacciatore, who was the team’s mascot Billy the Mountain Goat.

It has been more than eight years since fans last heard from the BMS crew. Following the show’s cancelation, a Kickstarter was launched to fund a movie. “Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland” was released on Feb. 2, 2016.

If show is looking for cameos from the world of CFB, a quarterback known for some wild times off the field has already expressed interest.
