We have terrible news to share from Washington State as starting safety Bryce Beekman is dead. He was 22.

Pullman Police confirmed the news to The Spokesman-Review on Wednesday. No details have been released regarding the cause of death and no further information about the tragedy has been released at this time.

A native of Baton Rouge, Beekman started all 13 games for the Cougars after transferring in from Arizona Western Junior College. In his only season with Washington State, Beekman recorded 60 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception for the Cougar defense.

Much like the vast majority of the programs across the country, Washington State was scheduled to be partaking in spring practice this week but the Cougars first spring under new coach Nick Rolovich had been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
