1st Sentence: "College State?" Really? I didn't read past that. This guy knows nothing about A&M!
It appears that he's reaching for the clipboard in Jimbo's left hand. Jimbo seems to be handing it back to him.
"There's four months..." REALLY?! My God, we have become lazy in our use of the English language! Dave, it's "There are four months...." You lost me in the first sentence.
The "debacle in The Coliseum" was in the Rose Bowl. (USC plays in the Los Angeles Coliseum. A&M played UCLA in the Rose Bowl - UCLA's home stadium.)
Adam, if you're going to write about Aggie sports it would behoove you to understand a little about Aggies. There are no "former Aggies." Once an Aggie, always an Aggie. Myles Garrett is not a "former Aggie" - he is an Aggie. Thanks and Gig 'Em!
Although I love A&M soccer, and it was the first sport that came to mind when seeing this article, we did not win the national championship in soccer in 2014. Florida State did. Also, an argument could be made for men's and women's outdoor track and field - both three-peat national champions 2009-2011.
Good post! I did think it was a more recent development.
You are also correct. It just seems like a dumbing down of the English language. Good post, though.
...or, are we too lazy to type that many letters or speak that many syllables?
Why is it, in America, nobody understands anymore that "invite" is a verb and "invitation" is a noun?
This should be titled, "Breaking down some of the SEC’s new coordinator hires," as there is no mention of A&M's new OC, Noel Mazzone. But, bulldogbuck55, it might have said the hire was a 'winner' too (only time will tell) so maybe we're better off.
I generally agree with your assessment, but the statement, "got pummeled by the Crimson Tide 41-23," is a bit disingenuous. Take away the 4 interceptions (of which 3 were returned for touchdowns - the 18 point differential in the score, by the way), and the game was much closer than the score reflects.
Don't forget about Daniel LaCamera. The highly touted punter/kicker in last year's recruiting class. Could be valuable on special teams.
It's "Tales From The Crypt," not "cript," and it was also a television series from 1989 to 1996.
I agree for the most part, but I would not give the offensive line a grade of "B." Their play for most of the season was below average. Pass protection wasn't too bad IF the quarterbacks got rid of the ball quickly - which they frequently did not, but they were poor at opening holes for the running game. More often than not, the running backs were getting hit at the line and had to fight their way to the defensive second level. Which, I believe, should elevate the running backs grade slightly. Maybe a "B+."
Tra Carson a "weakness" with a 4.7 yard/rush average. Yeah, right! The running game play calling was the weakness. Not Tra's performance. And... "a feeling of reference?" Maybe in the library.
Sean went to Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas. There is no school called "Schertz High School." We're all proud of how he played and represented himself as an Aggie! Gig 'Em Sean!
