You are absolutely correct. What a mess the NCAA has created with this!
I'm not a fan of the NIL, personally, so don't take this as a defense for it. But you need to read the articles that were written by Spyre. Nico's NIL deal was not contingent upon him going to the University of Tennessee. They state that explicitly. And if you think about it it makes sense, if he's a good player they're going to make money on him no matter where he goes. Now will they represent most of the athletes that go to UT with NIL deals, that's very likely. But Donde Plowman is right in her defense of UT.
NOBODY likes Gary Danielson, unless you're involved in the love fest he has with Alabama. He should have retired when Verne Lundquist retired!
Yes! College football is so much better than watching those overpaid pro babies! Go Vols!
Go Big Orange (didn't know this site couldn't support emojis ;)
Agreed! 14 points is definitely not a beatdown. Georgia was the better team and we should have never been ranked number one to begin with. But then again we don't control the rankings. But there are some Georgia fans out there with some class, I met some last night. But they're obviously not on this site. Getting that cocky can be very dangerous....
I agree that the spot was probably right as well. It was very close but probably just shy. However that call in the first half where they took away our touchdown was absolutely wrong! That is the call that burns me the most. We should have had seven additional points on the board. That was pure crowd noise that cost confusion and instead of getting a positive out of it we got punished for it!
Yes they do! Sitting out for a series might just work. By the way, congratulations on your win against the cats!
I saw that one too. The difference is our guy was really injured. He was actually cramping and trying to get off the field. So our coaches told him to fall down and give all of our team a break since Ole Miss had been doing it the entire game when their players weren't even hurt! So what's your point?
Well compared to 102,000 fans, $5,000 would be a few. And they do sell water at the stadium so..... Now if you would make a legitimate argument only about one golf ball and one mustard bottle then you might be taken seriously. The majority of the fans were not throwing anything and would never act that way. Most of us are terribly embarrassed by what unfolded by the few, woke, drunk students who showed their @sses.
As for the call on the spotting of the ball I unfortunately think they got it correct. After the review looking at all angles and where he had the ball tucked into his stomach he was probably just shy of a first down. But remember, we possibly would not have been in this situation have we not had the touchdown taken away from us in the first half that should have been ours! THAT was the real bad call of the game! Clearly crowd noise caused utter confusion on Ole Miss's part and Matt corral fumbled the ball which resulted in us getting a touchdown. But even the officials were blinded by the crowd noise and didn't know what to do. So they played it safe and pretended that the play was dead. Clearly in the replay you can see that Matt corral simply stopped. Maybe he thought he heard a whistle or whatever the reason, but the play was not blown dead and we scored a touchdown. We should have had seven more points on the board. So the bad spot late in the fourth quarter should have been a moot point!
