Ahhh I see. You're a born follower. Be offended if you must. Disagree with their choice if you must but, it doesn't make them wrong
Then what pray tell upsets you about a newspaper printing a picture of a football player on a particular play where he got hurt? Football is a rough game. Folks get hurt
What you are saying is, you're an Ole Miss fan and a PC Nazi. Whether the photo is right, wrong or classless is subjective. It is still at this point a free country. You have the right to be offended. If you don't agree with or like the photo or heading, don't buy the paper. Don't support the paper, that is your choice. But stop with the insanity that it changes your life or Kimdiche's, it doesn't. It was a big win for the local University, it's the photo they chose to use. Get over it.
And, if I were an Ole Miss fan I'd be pissed, too. But that wouldn't make the choice of the photo or headline by Memphis Commercial Appeal wrong.
Whether I would have a problem with it matters not. It happened, it the game, a picture was taken. Guess what, somebody is going to win the game and somebody is going to lose. There have been many pictures of injuries printed in the newspapers. Whether your feelings were hurt over the Kimdiche picture matters not, either. It happened and whether the picture was used or not, does not change the outcome. You are offended because either a) you are an Ole Miss fan or b) you're a politically correct nazi attempting to dictate what others should do or say. If you don't support the choice of the Memphis Commercial Appeal, don't buy the newspaper and shut your pie hole.
If Ole Miss and Bjork could use Kimdiche's injury to sell tickets at Vaught Hemingway stadium, don't think for a minute they would not do it. Part and parcel of the game
Yeah, no, I ain't buying it. Bjork is butthurt. There's nothing wrong with the pic or the headline (or should I say caption?) to appease the PC bullcrap. It's a good picture and headline for the city of the winning team. Bjork should stick to what he knows Athletic directing and let the newspaper folks do what they do. The reason Kimdiche is laying out there with a concussion has more to do with him playing Tailback. News flash, he's not a tail back. Look within Bjork, look within
Firstly, I've always liked Coach Boom. He is after all a former Bulldog but, if one were to look objectively at his defensive coaching record they might note the best he would qualify is a "good" not great coach. His years at LSU and Auburn were good years but, they weren't exactly "his" defenses under Saban and Tubs. Look more to "his" record at Texas and Florida and you'll note a significant difference. He's a good Defensive coach not yet a great one. The talking heads have elevated AU to the 3rd best team in the country mostly because he'll stop AU's defensive woes? See me when the seasons over. I'm thinking not.
AU has gotten a lot of love from the talking heads. But, it is "talking season" and I'm glad it's about over. The addition of Coach Boom doesn't really quantify all this perceived greatness from a weak defense last year. It's wasn't a great defense when he was on the plains before. Mediocre at best. They lost a good QB and that was the least of the problems on an 8-5 team from a year ago and we heard the same hyperbole about AU from the same sources. Why don't any of them talk about being so wrong last year?
One has to have 5 straight before they get 10 or 11 or 12
I just don't get how or why someone could formulate a reasonable logical debate that Auburn is all that and a bag of chips. I get these folks are paid to make predictions so they have to provide something and the more outlandish the more someone in preseason make discuss it but c'mon, Auburn? Really?
I don't get why AU is getting all this love from everywhere. They finished 8-5 last year and lost the top 3 of offensive production from last year. What gives?
Maybe his predictions this year should be prefaced with his predictions from last year?
Richt has certainly made his share of bonehead calls over the years and last years was amplified and rightfully so. Were they all his exclusively? I would say no and now hopefully he has some assistants that can contribute and help in making good calls in the clutch. Richt has made many good calls over the years and last year included. The QB situation is a non-issue. Any one of the 3 QBs can and would start on any team in the SEC. The pundits mention the QB situation as if we have no QB and that is simply not the case. We have 3 and with the OL UGA has all 3 can can severely hurt the opposition. That said, I remember times when we were suppose to have an OL superior to all and they ended up being barely better than the JV. I don't believe that to be the case this year. The schedule is brutal but not unmanageable. Georgia could conceivably lose one, maybe two after playing good hard fought, well coached games. Could lose more in the same fashion but, losing them as we have in the past and specifically in the recent past could and should put someone back on the burners
Excellent piece and analysis Murf. I enjoyed it not only as a Dawg fan but also as a ex-lineman. Rarely has UGA ever had a bad under performing OL but never one that was loaded with draft picks and seemingly always a high octane offense. Good to see why laid out in layman terms. Good breakdown
Finebaum was nothing but a regional call in show and a joke at that, when Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa. Coinciding with the rise of Sirius college sports radio. They had nothing but time to fill and did it with that sister humping garbage. The more Saban won, the more attention the Finebaum tripe received. I guess you can sell anything if you're in the right place at the right time
The whole "mouth piece of the SEC" bit is lying shameless self promotion on the part of Finebaum. He's the mouth piece of Alabama. I don't know of anywhere else they would claim him. Anyway, I am all for increasing his role as long as it is on ESPN. Could they make that ESPN exclusively?
I didn't watch it before because of Holtz and May. I still won't. ESPN is blowing opportunities to make it better instead, they make it worse
Get rid of Mark May and make it a Trifecta
That was just one snapshot in time there guy. But, it also sums up Richts entire career at UGA to date. A day late and a few yards short
Roquan has already "committed" twice even. Someone should tell coach maybe "they" can quit with the commit and use words like "say" favorably or "mention" schools but stop with the "commit". Cause Roquan's commitment is about as good as Brian Williams's truth
Georgia can sleep walk through this game and win it. Most likely they will, too. If they come ready to play expect that Grantham defense to get exposed
Just another painful reminder of the mediocrity the program is mired in
I will state this, if the Auburn fan did indeed experience this behavior, and I do not doubt that he didn't, I sincerely apologize on behalf of all Georgia fans. I personally have been to all SEC stadiums at one point or another with one exception (College Station). I am always fully decked out in UGA garb and have had my share of harassment. Usually not too extreme as I am a pretty big guy. Some stadiums/towns I have a great experience others, not so much. Rather than naming them here let me just say they are at every university, good and bad. I apologize Auburn Fan, I really do. Ribbing is all in fun, harassment is a whole 'nother kettle of fish. I do and will continue to stamp out such harassment when I see it, no matter the stadium I am in
