Vanderbilt was actually the 2 seed and Michigan was the 3 seed. Also, Vanderbilt was favored by 2, so not really an upset.
Imagine if Saturday Down South could woo some actual professional journalists to their staff of writers. Semi-pro hacks like Dave Hooker would probably feel pretty skittish. Every time I read this clown's copy I shake my head at how far sports journalism has fallen in my lifetime. SDS, please get rid of this know-nothing hack.
Not to disagree with your point that Nashville has more Tennessee fans than Vanderbilt fans, but the reason the largest sports station in Nashville calls itself the home of the Titans and Vols is because it broadcasts the Titans and Vols games. It has nothing to do with the size of the two schools' fanbases in the city.
Vanderbilt won two of three in Knoxville this season, not Nashville. And I guess you have a different idea of what constitutes the recent past than I do. VU has appeared in half the College World Series played since 2011 and won it all twice. I would call that the recent past, so the Commodores being there again this season was very foreseeable. Orange Kool-Aid much, Bubba?
Comment without knowing what you talking about much? Vanderbilt Medical Center is one of the preeminent medical centers in the world. They are deeply involved in Nashville's response to the pandemic, so the football team is getting the best testing and treatment possible. The protocols they are practicing under are a model for the entire city. Auburn on the other hand is some podunk town in one of the most backward states in the union. As the saying goes, there is no accounting for ignorance.
