As Phyllis would say,Colen Cowturd is a sinking ship in the world of sports journalism. He was FIRED from ESPN for his insensitive negative remarks about a baseball team. His idea of good journalism is anything that is controversial and causes animosity. His mind set tells him it will sell news papers. He is just plain wrong about that. There are some smart minded individuals out there that dont need his opinion to form an intelligent opinion. He was one of the ones bashing Alabama when they were hunting a coach and was trying to woo Saban to come on board. He said no one in their right mind would want to coach at Alabama. Really, I dont understand why he hates Alabama so much though. You think about it, Alabama has done more for the game than any other school out there. You know why conferences are tied to bowls now? Because in the 1920's Alabama went out west and won the Rose Bowl. To get even and pay those hillbillies back, Alabama was invited back the next year and they won that game too. Well The sports writers couldn't have that so the Bowls became aligned with the conferences of their choice to prevent that from happening again. You know why we play conference championships today? Because ALABAMA and FLORIDA played one in 1992 and well, you know the rest of the story. You want to be number one you got to prove it. Probably why Notre Dame and the Big 12 wont comply, they rely on publicity( sport writers opinion), for their validity. Oh yes, lets not forget why we play a four team playoff now. Two SEC teams were in the BCS Championship a few years back and they sure as hell wasn't going to let that happen again. Look Cowherd, you can hate Bama, talk bad about them too, but you sure as hell dont want to play them. They will fall one day. Saban will retire or move on. But until then, something pretty special is going on in Tuscaloosa Alabama right now whether you like it or not. History is being made right down south in the heart of Dixie. I guess thats why you hate us so much. Alabama is doing it without your help with the pen. Thats why all journalist dont particularly like Saban. He dont need you or your pen. Good ole fashion hard work and a genius mind is what is doing it for him. Just the way sports is supposed to be. So to Mr. Cowherd I say, Roll Damn Tide that one punk!

What you didnt understand was the fact that after week one the AP rankings would include EVERY team in the SEC West in the top 25. Alabama plays all those teams on a regular basis. Alabama did lose to Ohio Stae I give you that. But let Ohio get ready for the playoffs with their schedule and the SEC winner will be getting ready for the same playing their schedule. We will see who has the best team in college football. I just dont understand the logic of people that think that a team that is undefeated and has played nobody is better than a team with three loses but has played one hell of a schedule. Sounds like the liberal thinking this country has shifted to has invaded the sports minded population. God help us.
