My own thoughts: When he was at Samford he had wonderful QB attributes and many knew who he was. While at Auburn coaching he did a very fine job. Somewhere along the way, for whatever reason(s), his character traits began to erode. And what you see today is someone seemingly led by by very bad decisions about personal integrity. Whether these traits formed in and of himself or were also fed by FSU's/TPD's lack of integrity, what you see is someone highly disrespected by the public.
