It seems the line keeps getting moved for UGA's defense. When they played Arkansas, the narrative was "this is the best offense UGA has played so far." Same was said about Auburn, and Kentucky, and most recently Florida. And all they have done is given up, 0, 10, 13, and 7. When does the narrative become "it hasn't mattered who UGA has played. There defense has been the same week in and week out"??
About as good as UT looked against inferior competition the week before when UGA was finishing of a ranked opponent I guess. I suppose we will find out in a couple of weeks where both teams really stand.
I'll leave my allegiance a mystery for now, but these rankings are a joke. At best Fournette should 1b to Chubbs 1a. While he may have been the more highly touted recruit, he didn't prove it on the field. Running over a Texas A&M DB doesn't not the best running back make. Chubb was the picture of consistency, even when every defense keyed on him from Missouri to Louisville. Run through tackles? Check. Run around tackles? Check. Plant would be defenders in the ground? Ask Clemson. He will be running behind a line returning 4 of 5 starters from a year ago. He no doubt will be stronger and faster. He already shows the vision and patience of a back 3 years his senior. And he isn't out to prove anything like Fournette will. He will run, get tackled (or not!) and go back to the huddle for another carry. No show. No look at me. Just run. He may not have the same production with a healthy Keith Marshall and Sony Michel in the backfield. But he will be just as, if not more so, productive. If UGA has any semblance of a vertical passing game next year, it will only serve to open things up even more or Chubb and company.
