Fournette has given us so much. He's played hurt the entire year, and this bowl is meaningless. If he is still not healthy, then I don't want him on the field. I want him to get healthy and prepare for the next step in his life. Most LSU fans that I know agree with me.
I agree with the paying the players thing, but bowl games do that. Not to the level that players probably should be paid, but the players do get a nice chunk of money or gifts from whatever bowl they play in. Some of them also provide a lot of cool experiences for the kids. Look at some team like Old dominion. Maybe one or two guys off their team will go pro. Maybe. They made a bowl this year, and I bet they are very happy with it. I forget which bowl and where they go, but now these kids get to travel somewhere to go play and pick up some nice gifts. We all know that a lot of the college football players havent had the money to travel like this with their families. I see your arguments, but I think there is more upside than downside to the bowl games.
at least we have a quarterback... plus the kid graduated. More playing time and obviously better academics at TCU. He can go get a masters at a better academic school. Good for him.
That was just uncalled for man. Have some respect for others and yourself.
you're right. It is pretty simple. Go somewhere he can get playing time and the wins are a sure thing. Not somewhere that thinks their "rightful place" is on top. News flash, Tennessee hasn't been relevant in a while. Y'all are always the hot pick to do well and end up doing incredibly mediocre. LSU would've gone damn near undefeated if they had played in the east this year. Y'all still aint that good. Deal with it.
Look at our record since Miles got here. It's a pretty damn good record. You also contradict yourself with the "talent laden team" and won with "a Nick Saban recruited team" portions. Les May have won with a Saban recruited team, but recruiting is not his issue at all. He routinely pulls top recruiting classes. He is just not as good of a coach as Saban, but that is nothing to be ashamed of. Brandon Harris was a 5 star quarterback, correct? 4 at the worst. Not having an issue recruiting QB's. Out of 100+ FBS teams, but a realistic amount of 20 times that have a chance to be in the running for a national championship, 8 years since a natty ain't that bad. We would all love to win every year, but we can't. The bottom line is that unless you are a booster who donates money to the school and program, then you need to get over yourself. If you are a booster, which I highly doubt, then just stop giving money if you don't support the coach. If they value your money more than Miles, then he will be out of a job.
remember when y'all lost to ole miss? Most LSU fans didn't come to bash y'all on Bama articles... we did it on the LSU ones. You should do the same. People here have zero respect for others...
I've seen you post this on multiple LSU articles... You can stop now and go back to the bama ones? Plus, we all know that Fournette is the better, more complete back. Bama is obviously the better team, but Fournette is the better back.
We don't know that saying roll tide was part of the bet... It seems to me that wearing the hoodie was the bet. I could be wrong, or you could be wrong. If I'm wrong then I agree with you, but I just thought I would point it out.
I can think of one particularly good reason to doubt that bama can stop fournette... No one else has been able to, LSU has a better line than georgia, and fournette is better than Chubb. Well, would ya look at that, I seem to have found some reasons. I just have to pull them from deep inside your ass hole. In all seriousness though, Alabama has the best chance to slow him down. You can't stop him though. Just like you can't stop Henry, but you can slow him down. Good luck, but I hope your entire team suffers cramps of the worst kind and fournette can dance into the end zone repeatedly.
yeah, it's legit, but not really a story. I can do that. It won't look as good but I'm not a power running back on one of the best teams in the country. If he couldn't do that i woulda been pretty dissapointed
i'm perfectly happy to forget about that side of the game
I have to agree with you. I seem to be the only LSU fan on this side. I think that we would have to see the tape Les sent in to know for sure, but I didn't see anything too out of line. If I were stupid enough to try and tackle fournette, I would make sure he was down, regardless of a whistle. The whole eye poking thing, we will never really know. He ain't hurt, so I don't think it coulda been that bad. It is nice to see a Florida fan who comes in here and puts up a valid statement. I hope the rest of the LSU fans don't rip into you for it.
yall's quarterback had a nice chunk of yardage that was off the same type of play on the final drive as well. Don't forget about that one TD pass he had on a completely busted coverage, I could've made that throw. Your backup QB also had to throw a lot more because y'all couldn't run the ball. Harris can clearly throw it, but it's a safer bet to hand it off to fournette. Also, burned is very accurate when talking about the 2nd quarter. 150 yards in one quarter is being burned. The other 3 quarters, Florida's secondary did a great job. Bottom line is that it was a good game, and both teams can play the what-if game about strange things that happened. If we both do our job, then we will see each other in the championship and I am all for it. Florida has been my favorite game for as long as I can remember.
Don't forget to take the hat off man. It will not end well for you.
I'm kind of tired of seeing this. It's a free market. This is what the community has valued them at. The school makes an investment. Pay a big time coach big time money and ticket sales and other sales go up. You get your money back plus some. It's marketing and economics
I didn't read it as Bama winning is bold... I thought the bold part was drake will get a rushing and receiving touchdown
I kinda like your part about the staying 4 years. I am all for college players getting paid. Not that big of a percentage though, most big schools football teams also pay for other athletic programs. I'd say that you basically sign a contract with the school for 4 years. This way the school gets the most bang for their buck with the players and they get there education. Your buy-out for the contract is to pay them last years salary + tuition.
In his defense, the regular tackling moves werent exactly working
As does LSU. While they might not be quite on the same tier as georgia's backups, they still steal a lot of carries. When its a tight game though, give it to number 7. I know Georgia does it the same way. If the game is on the line then give it to the horse
I don't understand the first part of your paragraph there, but these are the Vegas lines. Vegas rarely loses. You also don't have a "great" O. You have a good one. Oklahoma doesn't play much defense. Tulsa hung like what? 38 on em? It won't be a blow out.
Maybe they need less weight on Mizzou. Uconn is 2-1 ATS, while Mizzou is 0-3. Sounds like they nee less weight on Mizzou to me.
As for the first play you spoke of, they replayed it on TV and it was a clear catch. I imagine the booth saw that as well, so they didn't bother. As for the 2nd play, I don't recall that play, so I can't speculate or respond. I'd be pissed at the ref if I were Ford, but there aint much you can do about it.
none of the SEC teams are classy and I'm an LSU fan. Classy doesn't win games, but then again chopping at glenn dorseys legs didnt win games either... Auburn....
