Yeah, I was fine with it. Replay officials were working overtime, but technically, they were correct on every call. This wasn't Kellen Mond's knee touching the ground, this was an obvious strip before a whistle while a player was moving forward. If you want to argue about the one sidedness, just 2 plays before on second down, they had marked Spiller with a first down line to gain. They reviewed it, and marked it back 2 yards. Fair enough. They missed a face mask too, but who cares. The drive before LSU got a first down on a run where the runner was a full yard short of the line to gain, he got a home mark to give him a half yard short of the line to gain, and they moved the chains. No review. You got about 4 calls changed the outcome of the game because the A&M boosters spent all their money on Jimbo instead of LSU SEC official retirement fund donations.
No one heard the whistle blow, that's why the player was still moving forward. The reaction of the bench says it all, they thought they just lost the game because they fumbled. Good thing you got those zebra's in your back pocket.
So... no one's going to say anything about the stripped punt that would have ended the game? While we didn't play well, we sure didn't deserve to lose via zebras with brutal home calls in the last few minutes. I don't mind when both sides get the shaft by terrible calls, but it sure seemed pretty one sided to me.
I would rather lose to Ole Miss at Oxford than give up 42 to Samford. You "won" your game too.
Honestly, it was only 27 rushes, they count sacks as rushes in CFB. Yeah, I was profanely yelling at the TV to run the ball. Just like the Colorado game.
Is it like a right of passage to have your best defensive lineman held to the point they are injured when you go to Oxford? Or do they just do that for A&M? A&M rightfully lost that game, we were grossly outplayed in the first half. My thoughts: Calzada can't get off his 1st read still. Probably the only reason he beat bama was his first read was wide open. He missed multiple people, and he got happy feet in a clean pocket. His pass timing is just terrible, and although he was the hero of the Bama game, I think he's a one hit wonder. There's a reason he couldn't beat out Mond. That referee crew needs to be reviewed. 2 late hit calls on us that were NOT called the other way. Ole Miss tackled Spiller on so far out of bounds he wasn't in the white any more. They also roughed up Calzada. The stupid delay of game clapping calls were terrible both ways. The fact they wouldn't measure or double check a ball that was much closer to the line to gain on a 3rd down than that terrible fake field goal, which got both a measure for easily half a yard short, and a replay. Blatant holds all across the Ole Miss line, which even the awful ESPN announcers went "Uh, that's a hold, how did they miss that?" Jimbo wouldn't change it up either. When you only rush 27 times and pass 42 with your backup quarterback, you done messed up. When we ran off tackle or did anything outside the box, we seemed to be successful. When we ran on first down we seemed to do ok. Calzada seems to know how to throw the ball one way. As hard as he can. 2 feet away, 5 yards away, a bomb... all the same velocity. The guy is a 55% passer. Sure the receivers have dropped a few, but how much is that due to the fact he throws the ball 200 mph a few feet over their head? Jimbo gets an F. He keeps trying to force passes when we have great running backs. All in all, a ready to play Ole Miss team came out and lit us up in the first half. There were adjustments made in the second to make it more competitive than it felt.
LOL, so Colorado deserved to win that game, with 1 first down and 55 yards of offense, and 0 points in the second half? If Calzada doesn't fumble at the 2 inch line, scoreboard starts looking different.
It was horribly out of balance, it was forced. The playcalling on offense in a close game where the defense was on the field almost the entire first half boggles the mind.
Someone please explain the play calling to me. Jimbo threw 38 passes with his backup, called a few qb runs, and let Spiller and achane have 17 runs. That's like bringing your gun, but leaving the ammo under your bed.
You mind telling us what exactly was going through that thing on top of your neck while you threw 38 times with the backup, called qb draws, and only handed off to achane, spiller, and Smith 18 times? You threw more to lane than you handed off to spiller. That's how you lose like an fool.
I think the Aggies improved a lot over the season, no way they are the same team that played in Tuscaloosa in week 2. We also got 500 yards against them in the first matchup. ND was just terrible. They couldn't score, they looked mostly inept on defense. They held on to the ball and shortened the game. Good for them, they beat the spread. It was 34-7, they were never a threat.
100 percent not agreeing with that. 3 loss Florida doesn't get to jump the line over 0 or 1 loss teams because they played 'bama competitively.
You're a salty little winless kid. Your opinion on football is worthless.
Might have been a better game, but we got our chance and muffed it. At least it was tied at one point other than 0-0. Notre Dame got their butt whooped the whole game.
I'm just a little sick of the complete lack of respect coming from the media. Don't win by Alabama stomping level, you're not good? You would have thought auburn was #5 by the media coverage of the game. And the "houdini" play was sprung by the most blatant hold/tackle I've ever seen. A&M should be getting tons of credit for having a mediocre quarterback and still finding a way to win.
An Aggie does not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do. You obviously didn't attend fishcamp.
