Texas A&M Defense is not good when it panics. I don't know why that's such a consistent theme with them, but when it happens you see overpursuit and big hits =/= tackles. And Knight is pedestrian (Which is all we need) when he doesn't have the most underrated DE combo in the nations applying constant pressure.
Yeah, I understand their stance for "player safety," but the standards for what dictates that has been consistently inconsistent. Seals-Jones gets nailed for blocks that look exactly like this that are good foorball plays, but definitely targeting calls. Allthewhile Tripucka is getting his plant leg slammed, but since the contact was initiated in ways not covered by the rule, it's a good play. The inconsistency in philosophy is what kills me. In a perfect world, this is more debatable, in our world DON'T TARGET THE 12th MAN!
I bet Arkansas is the tougher passing attack to stop (more than A&M). The Aggies have great receivers, but Allen is the much better Quarterback. I'd say it was a good outing against a team that has it together offensively who expects to put up points. God, am I really talking about Arkansas? What is life...
Because Notre Dame Beat a Power 5 opponent more emphatically than Georgia did ULM from the Sunbelt Conference. They didn't so much get demoted as Notre Dame exceeded initial expectations.
"...an SEC record for number of receptions in a game (124)" Surely, that's not right. A season, maybe?
Right, even with Mizzou though, that's 4: Mizzou, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Mississippi St. Whereas Chris said 5, and listed 4 schools, one of which has a claimed title or three.
Shouldn't have anything to do with it. Arkansas Won their title in the 60s I believe as part of the Southwest Conference. They didn't join the SEC until '91.
"9 of 14 SEC schools claim a title" so there are 5 who do not? But you only list 4 schools. One of which is Texas A&M who has three. Then there's So. Carolina... Texas A&M should be bolded in the list and South Carolina should replace Texas A&M in the last paragraph, and change "9 of 14" to "10 of 14"
Breaking it down. Defenseless: Anybody in the air is "defenseleas". I get that. But that's the fault of the Quarterback, not the DB's for staying in position. Lowing his head: he pit his head on the ball. Sound familiar? That's what these kids are supposed to do to make a player fumble, or in this case, drop the pass. It worked didn't it? Forcible/malicious contact: are you kidding me? He was making a play, not a statement. I see nothing there to suggest he was trying to hurt him beyond basic football contact. By definition, yeah, this is probably targeting, but it's bogus. Not fair to this kid to eject him for not giving up on a play.
