So seriously. Without any vitriol from haters, tell me this. With almost a 2 TD spread in favor of LSU, if they lose the game by 1 point (or more), does that make them worse of a team or does that make Mizzou better than what people thought? After reading so many of the comments on this board (not all) I'd say that people will say that LSU is terrible rather than give Mizzou credit for being better than anyone every expected. Thoughts???

I agree with your points; however, one thing that should have been added is the O-Line is blocking better for him! I'm not sure what the deal was with last year's "senior" heavy OL but my goodness they didn't block for ...well, you know. OL this year is doing a much better job protecting the QB and opening enough of a hole to get 3 or 4 yard runs (which must be done) opening up better passing opportunities.

Dude, Alabama is playing Kent State and they are mentioned. Want to rethink that statement. If Bama is playing a cupcake and gets mentioned, MIZZOU should also. Save your "old-school" SEC bias for boards that are strictly stuck in the past.

Hey JC, I can't wait to see how this all plays out. I can see how the prognosticators would think Mizzou could not come back from such a horrible season last year and make a bowl. but I submit that there are way too many uncertainties to say they won't make it. As bad as they were last year, they still almost went to a bowl. I'm not saying that they will win the East or that they could be a darkhorse. What I'm saying is I'm sure they will be better than 6-6...and if they get a couple things that happen to go their way, they could go 8-4 (that would be their ceiling of course).

B-bread, I have to disagree AND agree with you. Disagree in that even the oft hated Gary Danielson actually wrote that Mizzou is the "Darkhorse" in the east...yes, he does follow the SEC. As far as Cinderella team goes, I'd agree. I don't see that either. It IS reasonable to believe they will go bowling this year...mainly because of all the uncertainties I stated earlier and with the installation of a new offense. Being real here, the rub is that most traditional SEC followers/fans just don't like Mizzou and always look at them as middle of the road or less. If you look at this on neutral ground, you would agree.

JC, don't get me wrong. Its more like every time I read an SDS article, it is littered with pessimism when it comes to Mizzou. If Mizzou wins, its because they have a weak schedule; if they lose, its because they don't belong; if they pull out a close win, they were lucky; if they lose by a field goal, they were steam-rolled. I mean that is the flavor of "most" articles and comments found on SDS.

D-Line-U, I love the optimism; however, I don't quite see that many wins. 8 tops. I'd love to be wrong and it's 9+ but I have to also be a little realistic after seeing what happened last year and with so many uncertainties remaining.

John, You have a hate for Mizzou I know. I get that. But here is the problem with predictions for Mizzou this year, there are way too many unknowns...especially on offense. I highly doubt that Mizzou will stink up the field on offense as bad as they did last year and especially with a new system...thank you Huepel. Different O-line, more options at running back, maturing receivers. There is more of an up side than a down side to this year's offense. Mizzou DID lose two key defensive linemen but not the whole squad. I see this article more of a bait/troll article than serious belief. Your "The skinny" should have included the fact that since there are so many unknowns we really have to wait and see what happens after the first game against WV. That will give us a better reading on this post Pinkel Mizzou squad.
