if the pac invites baylor you know desperation on the west coast has reached an apex.
the acc is hamstrung until probably 2030 or so because of the television deal they signed a long time ago. at that time it seemed like a terrific deal. now it's an albatross. it makes it too expensive for any of their schools to leave the conference. by 2030 though it starts to get viable. florida state, clemson, miami, maybe north carolina will have options? it comes down to how much viewership each school has. it's about tv dollars and how much a school can bring.
the amount of money and viewership texas brings to the table is quite a bit more than most other sec schools. that is why they were added.
i visited the asu campus one time saw your stadium and had dinner in an area around there where the students hung out. i had a good time. i thought it was beautiful there.
texas is not leaving the sec. it's the flagship conference of college football.
not to mention arizona can more easily get into texas to recruit
i really thought the arizona schools would join the big 12. it solves alot of your time zone problems and both ya'll would be good adds for that conference.
love it! if the pac turns into nothing more than a volleyball, cross country and rowing conference that would be just fine with me. they have a severe problem they cannot escape and that is 'west coast time.' and their schools refuse to play ball in the morning when the rest of the country can watch them. as a result....well here it is.
i think the "world" has decided that dollars for the athletes is in their best interest so now every school is out to make as much as they can. nil is just the beginning of compensating these athletes.
I think this is hilarious. What the heck happened to "The Alliance" that the PAC, Big and ACC just formed "for the good of college football?" I can't wait for someone to ask that question to the Big 10 and PAC 12 commissioners. Oh my this is rich!
I think it's moving more toward two conferences, more like the NFC and AFC. And I think the Big10 just decided they want to be the other conference to the SEC.
It may be that USC and UCLA are competing in Football with the Big 10 and the other sports remain in the PAC. There is a model of sorts for that now. Notre Dame plays all sports except football with the ACC.
Same problem at running back. How do you keep Spiller and Achane happy? Defensive Line would be relatively easy to satisfy most players since rotations are expected and routine in every game at that position.
Unfortunately that is the root of the issue for the Ags I know that that don't want to renew the rivalry. The good news is a poll taken at both campuses showed there is overwhelming support to renew the rivalry. One day it will happen. I am just curious who are the power brokers at A&M that would have to say yes for it the series to start again. I for one want the series again so long as the refs are from a neutral conference :)
It was a season much better than I thought it would be going in to it. We had a ceiling on offense with no star wideout and a QB that struggled in the passing game from time to time and had below average long ball accuracy. So we turn the page next year to a new QB and a rebuild along the offensive line. I am actually excited to get started with Jimbo's recruits. We will see if those higher ranked recruits pan out. All that said, 2020 was a great year for the Ags and I loved watching them!
Leach will keep MSU respectable and pull off the occasional upset. And it will be entertaining the entire time. I'm looking forward to it.
This Harsin better work or Auburn is looking at wandering in the wilderness for a while.
tOSU's offensive line looked very capable and talented vs. Clemson. I would be concerned about Bama's ability to defend against the run. ND had some success on the ground and tOSU is a much better team than Notre Dame. I think this game is going to be very close and Alabama is going to have their hands full.
