I think this game will be close in the first half, with GA pulling away in the second. GA by 17, but TN gets in the endzone three times. I am thinking final score, 41-24.
I had to post just to thank you for the giggle. That was funny!
If, God forbid, AL beats GA for the SEC championship, then AL and GA are both in the national playoffs. If, as expected, Ohio State runs the last half of their schedule, beating out Penn, Nebraska, Purdue, MI State and MI, then they are in. And, even though they have been ugly about their wins, if an undefeated OU beats out the three ranked teams left on their schedule, Baylor, Iowa State and OU State, then there is no way they are excluded from the top four for a Cincinnati that will have only played two ranked teams, ND and SMU. It'll be the usual suspects in the natty and Cinci will be on the outside looking in, along with Wake Forest (assuming they run the rest of their remaining schedule).
Depends. Lots of variables. Did Pruitt know about it before his termination? If he knew, did he report it properly? Was it even his job to handle what may result in sanctions if they come to light in his lawsuit? See? Could be any of a number of things. Or, he could be complicit but is willing to nuke the school along with his own reputation. We are talking about a sizeable sum of money here, so anything could happen.
Glad to see KY doing so well this year. I want the SEC East to be a tough conference because I want the GA wins to mean as much as possible ... well except for FL ... I hope they lose to everyone.
Completley agree with you CovingtonDawg. His offense is the only offense we have played so far that can make the claim that they put up two touchdowns against our best. No other team can say that, and that means a lot to a team competing at the highest level in college football. I, too, hated that drive, but it was smash mouth football at its finest and KY came out on top. Good for them! I am happy to see KY doing so well this season and wish them the best!
Worthless penalty. $250K taken out of proceeds means nothing to the people who threw the items on the field. What should have happened was they should have picked a home game and banned all fans from attending for the first offense. Future offenses would result in multiple home games being played without fans in attendance. That would stop this behavior in its tracks. Fans would police themselves because no season ticket holder wants Toothless Bob causing them to miss home games because he gets drunk and wants to make an ass out of himself.
Dawg fan here, so I don't have a dog in the fight as I could care less who won this game, but looking at the replay I agree with you ... the spot was correct.
Like you, I don't think a fine would matter to the fans. Hell, its not going to affect their pocketbook. What would affect them, though, would be to state that the next home game would played without any fans in attendance ... and that the next time they threw items on the field would result in additional home games being played without the fan base in attendance. Hit 'em where it hurts, and in this case the pocketbook isn't the right spot.
I don't have a dog in this hunt, but looking at the replay it shows he didn't make the line to gain. The spot the ref made was good.
I'm with GatorPhil on this one Archon. I don't think that Florida is as challenging of an upcoming game as Tennessee will be. I'm really trying not to be a "homer", but while our offense is good, this defense is just absolutely amazing. Looked up some stats this morning and through the first six games of the season Georgia has allowed a TOTAL of 399 rushing yards. Unreal.
JHS is always a rough crowd to play against. Fans in Auburn love their football and will make it loud. But if Georgia keeps playing as well as they have been, Auburn really doesn't stand a chance. The current spread is 16.5 points, about what it was for the Arkansas game .... and we see how that one turned out. Georgia scored 37 in that game, but if he wanted to Kirby could have just ground Arkansas' face in the dirt and put up 60 or more. Hell, the last time I felt this confident of a Georgia-Auburn game I won $2000 because I didn't think the spread is correct. I am that confident on this game. I expect to see Georgia hang 31 points on Auburn. And unlike Arkansas, I don't see Kirby taking his foot off their neck.
I'm happy to see Pittman and the hogs doing so well! Great football teams make for great SEC football games for us fans. I still have good memories from the last time we played the hogs at their home stadium, as their fans were welcoming and fun, and I look forward to seeing hog fans on our campus in Athens this coming weekend. Go DAWGS!
Lane, you are the type of Georgia fan that I, as a Georgia fan and alumnus (twice), like to call out. The fire hose incident? They turned the hoses on our fans because we were tearing chunks of turf up on the field. Literally, our fans were trying to cart away the Auburn emblem in the center of the field. Now what would you want done to someone trying to tear out chunks of our hedges?
Georgia fan here. I am not going to say that this person did not experience what he claims he did, but I am going to outright say that in all my years of attending games at Athens I have never seen anything close to what he describes. I have seen drunks fighting with one another, but you get those everywhere you go. So color me skeptical. As to the worst fans I have personally ever experienced? Florida, without a doubt, although my buddy who attended the Georgia/Colorado game back in 2010 said that the Colorado fans were the worst he has ever experienced and he has gone to more games down in Jacksonville than me. Best opposing fan base so far in my experience? Has to be Mizzou fans. Close second? Arkansas. At least in my experience, yours may vary. Then again, some of that may have to do with the fact that we don't have a history of playing each other. Anyway, all fan bases have their mouth breathing morons. I try to call out those who are part of mine when they show their douchery. If we all do that same maybe we can keep these types of posts to a minimum.
I am required as a Georgia fan to start this off by letting you know: Auburn Sucks! Now that the legal stuff is out of the way, I am sooooo looking forward to tomorrow. It should be epic. See you between the hedges you Auburn puke!
stobyjoe, Arkansas has got it, they just have to figure out how to put it all together. As a Georgia fan, I was sitting there at the War Memorial Stadium begging that clock to run faster in the second half. I still think Arkansas is the best unranked team in the nation. Oh, and your fans, at least the ones I came in contact with, have class. Was a fun trip.
