It does transmit through mucous membranes, so it litterally does transmit through osmosis. Lkne the eyes. Wearing a mask does nothing to keep you from getting it unless it is a fit tested N95. But unless you are wearing a faceshield or goggles, you can still get it from a droplet landing in your eyes.
